Inevitably your web sites or other web properties will rise in the rankings of the search engines when other sites start pointing links to them. There is much debate as to whether the backlinks being mixed in with content are more valuable than backlinks sitting on their own. Also, there is debate whether or not backlinks coming from related sites have more value.

I personally feel that backlinking is in fact more valuable when it is contextual and from niche related sites. To me it’s just common sense that that is the case. A tool to help get backlinks to your web properties with the added benefit of being contextual, do-follow and from related content is one of my favorites, Syndicate Kahuna. It’s not the only method I use but definitely is the most worked tool in my arsenal for building backlinks.

There is a list of exactly the types of articles that people want published on their sites on Syndicate Kahuna. It will show you the category that people look for articles in and the keywords that they want to exist in the articles. If you find a category/keyword combination near the top and you supply SK with an article that matches you can expect a lot of backlinks from just one submission. There are tons of keyword and category combinations that you can submit content for where you can expect heaps of backlinks as a result.

Here’s a quick overview of a process I use time and again to make money online using an example in the Insurance niche…

Find a keyphrase (maybe 3-5 words) using Market Samurai related to say, RV insurance, which has lots of searches and low/weak competition. Get hosting, you will better off with unlimited hosting so you can host multiple site for less than $100 per year. Choose a domain name with your keyphrase in it, with or without hyphens is fine. Use Wordpress for your site to make things easy, and use your keyphrase for the title and in the meta tags if you know how. Write a few articles about RV insurance, put one on the main page that mentions your keyphrase a few times. Choose a Cost Per Action offer for RV insurance to promote on the blog. Pick one where you can earn around $7 or more per lead. Put a banner promoting the offer in the sidebar and use a text link under each of the articles. Add a banner, maybe a 468×60, near the top of the homepage. Run some articles through SK creating backlinks with your chosen keyphrase as the anchor text. You can grab free insurance related content from SK so that your blog doesn’t get stale. Trust that this works and keep building similar sites and wait for the steady windfall. Persistence is key!
